For the third quarter of 2005, total passenger boardings for all modes were up by more than seven percent compared with the same quarter in 2004. ST Express bus ridership increased by three percent overall. Year-to-date systemwide ridership of 7.88 million represents an increase of more than five percent compared to the first nine months of 2004.

Total system ridership includes weekday and weekend ridership for express bus, light rail and commuter rail, as well as special service for commuter rail and express bus. Average weekday boardings are based on Monday - Friday ridership.
