Shopping and Markets
Our trains and buses have plenty of storage space for all of your purchases. From clothing boutiques in Old Bellevue to locally-crafted gifts at Freighthouse Square, Sound Transit has service to the best shopping in the Puget Sound region. Visit large shopping malls like the Alderwood Mall, try fresh produce at Seattle's famous Pike Place Market or shop for cultural gifts in the Chinatown/International District.

 

Airports and Train Stations
Sound Transit offers many ways to get around the region and also can connect travelers who are going farther. The Seattle-Tacoma International Airport is the largest airport in the state and is served by several bus routes (light rail will reach the airport in 2009!). And, Sound Transit can connect you to Amtrak stations in Tacoma, Seattle or Everett by either commuter train or express bus.

 

Museums and Theaters
The Puget Sound is a haven for art and history lovers of all kinds with theaters offering contemporary Broadway musicals, ballet and dance, opera, and intimate acoustic concerts. Escape from the parking and traffic hassles of game-day and take a bus or train to the game. The Tacoma Dome hosts the state's largest acts, from U2 to monster trucks. New state-of-the-art sports stadiums have attracted fans from all over the world: Safeco Field has a retractable roof for the sunny days of summer baseball and Qwest Field is the playground of the Seahawks and Sounders.

 

Universities, Colleges and Libraries
Catch up on your reading or studying while you ride an express bus or train. The Puget Sound area is home to some of the most college-educated cities in the country. Helping to supply the region's graduates are the many universities and colleges. The Puget Sound also puts a high priority on its public library system, with a new library in Downtown Seattle drawing national attention.
