Be Prepared for Service Interruptions

Sound Transit strives to provide you with consistent, reliable bus and train service. But service interruptions do occur. Be prepared for emergencies -- use the online Trip Planner and note your options for your regular commute. Green River Valley/Howard Hanson Dam

  • The possibility of flooding in the Green River Valley due to heavy rains and the condition of the Howard Hanson Dam may affect Sound Transit Express bus routes 564 and 565, Sounder commuter rail and Central Link light rail service. Learn more >>>

Sound Transit Operations During Adverse Weather

In case of inclement weather or emergency, such as an earthquake or snow, listen to your local AM radio station. Check the Regional Public Information Network (RPIN) at www.govlink.org for transportation alerts.

ST Express Bus Operations:

ST Express regional bus service will operate commuter service during adverse weather. Some routes may experience delays or detours. Please be aware of the potential changes to ST Express service due to inclement weather and plan accordingly.

For recorded Rider Alerts call Sound Transit Rider Information at 1-888-889-6368. Press 1 to select Rider Alert, then press 1 for up-to-date ST Express service information.

ST Express routes are operated by our transit partners Community Transit 1-800-562-1375, King County Metro 1-800-542-7876 and Pierce Transit 1-800-562-8109.

Sounder Commuter Rail Operations:

Sounder trains will operate regular commuter service during adverse weather. In the event of a weather-related emergency, please be aware of your transit alternatives.

For recorded Rider Alerts call Sound Transit Rider Information at 1-888-889-6368. Press 1 to select Rider Alert, then press 2 for up-to-date Sounder service information.

Central Link Link Rail Operations:

Link light rail trains will operate regular commuter service during adverse weather. In the event of a weather-related emergency, please be aware of your transit alternatives.

Tacoma Link Light Rail Operations:

Tacoma Link light rail operators will maintain service to the best of their ability. Be aware of potential delays. Hours of operation include: Monday-Friday 5:20 a.m.-8 p.m. every 10 minutes; Saturday 8 a.m.-10 p.m. every 10 minutes; Sunday 10:10 a.m.-11:30 a.m. every 20 minutes, 11:30 a.m.-6:40 p.m., every 10 minutes, and 6:40 p.m.-8 p.m. every 20 minutes.
