Design and Construction Resources

Design Standards and Guidelines

Sound Transit's capital projects groups manage the design and construction of Sound Transit projects. Designs are developed by consultants and Sound Transit staff using agency design standards and guidelines. Design standards and guidelines for Sounder and ST Express passenger facility projects >>>

Construction Resources

Sound Transit is committed to working with communities during construction to provide information about upcoming work activities and to reduce impacts to neighborhoods. Sound Transit makes it easy to track our building program for Link light rail, Sounder commuter rail, and ST Express regional bus service. A number of resources on our Web site are designed to keep you current on construction activities. You'll also find information on upcoming meetings, events, community outreach and construction updates and names of people to contact with questions.

Community Outreach

Building a mass transit system can temporarily impact neighborhoods and businesses. That's why Sound Transit employs a team of experienced professionals to work with community members and businesses to provide information, hear concerns and work on solutions. Community Outreach >>

Light Rail Construction Mitigation

Sound Transit works hard to ease the impacts of construction on local neighborhoods and businesses. A big part of our mitigation is making sure that businesses remain open during the construction of light rail and other projects.
