Regional Special Needs Transportation Plan

Sound Transit has developed a five-year regional special needs transportation coordination plan which outlines how transit agencies, social service agencies, school districts, and other transportation providers will most efficiently and effectively work together to improve regional mobility for people with special transportation needs throughout King, Snohomish, and Pierce counties. The plan identified thirty projects which would improve mobility for customers with special needs.  Sound Transit has received grant funding for two of these projects and will begin implementation in the fall of 2007.

People with special transportation needs are defined in state law as people, including their attendants, who because of physical or mental disability, income status, or age, are unable to transport themselves or purchase transportation. [47.06B.012 RCW]
