How To Ride
ST Express Regional Bus
- Check bus route times and stop locations on the timetable and map
- Arrive five minutes early at your bus stop.
- Have your fare ready.
- If paying a reduced fare, show valid Regional Reduced Fare Permit.
- If riding more than one bus, ask for a transfer when you pay.
- Ask the driver which bus stop is closest to your destination.
- Pull the cord or press the bell bar to notify the driver a block before your stop.
Sounder Commuter Rail
- Check station locations
- Check current weekday schedule
- Use your PugetPass or purchase a ticket from the ticket vending machine on the station platform.
- Arrive at least 15 minutes early if you need to purchase a pass or ticket upgrade.
- Purchase pass or upgrade ticket from the ticket vending machine.
- Fare is inspected at random. Be prepared to show your pass, ticket and/or transfer to the conductor upon request.
- Persons paying reduced fare may be required to show their Regional Reduced Fare Permit.
- Passengers without a valid ticket or pass are subject to a citation and fine.
Tacoma Link Light Rail
- Tacoma Link is fare free - no fare required.
- Check train operating times and station locations.
- Stand behind yellow tactile warning strip at station platform.
- Link trains will stop at every station.
- Doors open automatically. If the doors do not open, push the button next to the doors to open them.
- Do not hold the doors open once they've started to close.
- Use handrails, when standing; do not stand on the stairs.
- Allow persons with disabilities and senior citizens priority seats.
- Do not disturb the train operator while the train is in motion.
- Use the emergency intercom on the train to alert the train operator of any emergency situation.
- Take your personal belongings when you leave.
- All passengers must leave at the end of the line.
