Sounder Commuter Rail Projects

Sounder commuter trains connect Seattle to Everett in the north and Tacoma in the south every weekday. Sounder passengers enjoy a number of new stations up and down the line. In addition Sound Transit, in partnership with the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railways, is investing about a billion dollars to improve signals, tracks, stations and grade crossings throughout the Sounder corridor. Once the tracks are improved, the overall capacity in the corridor for Amtrak passenger service and BNSF and other freight service is increased.
