Sound Transit projects provide many opportunities for construction careers in the Puget Sound region

Construction companies under contract with Sound Transit conduct all hiring of the construction workforce.

In conjunction with the Project Labor Agreement, the construction workers employed by Sound Transit contractors are hired through the Building Trades Unions of Seattle/King County. Sound Transit works with these unions and their apprenticeship programs to open up career opportunities for people who want to be involved with Sound Transit construction projects. Sound Transit also funds the RAPID Program to assist individuals wishing to join an apprenticeship program as the path to a construction career; the list of community-based organizations participating in the RAPID program is available from Sound Transit by contacting Greg Mowat.
