ST Express Bus Fares

ST Express bus fares are zone based. The cost depends on how many zones you travel though and your fare type (Adult, Youth, Senior/Disabled).

Trips within Pierce or Snohomish county are one zone. A trip costs more when it crosses a county line.

Trips within King County can be one or two zones depending on whether they cross a boundary within King County. Zone boundaries within King County are:

  • Lake Washington and Lake Forest Park (between north and east King County)
  • Seattle city limits (between north and south King County)
  • Renton city limits (between east and south King County)

Bus fares can be paid by cash at the farebox or by using an ORCA card, or a pass such as PugetPass or FlexPass. Read more about ORCA >>>

Drivers carry no change - please have exact fare ready. Follow the driver's direction to pay when you enter or leave the bus.
