Here's what's coming this year
As we enter 2024, we are looking forward to continuing to connect with your community! Here’s what to expect this year:
-
Find us tabling at local community gathering places this spring! We will share the list of events and locations soon.
-
Find us in your community for summer fairs and festivals season! We will be at Everett Pride, Nubian Jam, the Everett Farmers Market, and many more!
-
This summer, we will be sharing updates to the project design, including early station layouts. In the meantime, we’ve posted the most recent station maps on the Everett Link Project website (scroll to the bottom of the page), mostly to reflect that some of the alternatives considered previously will not continue to be studied.
-
We continue to hold briefings with community organizations, key stakeholders, and elected officials.
-
Be on the lookout for notifications related to fieldwork activities in your community, like taking noise measurements, soil samples, and pictures for visual analysis.
Hosting an event you want the Everett Link Project Team to attend and/or sponsor? Want our team to provide a briefing to your community? Reach out to everettlink@soundtransit.org any time and we will get on your schedule!

New accessibility app enhances navigation
Sound Transit is excited to announce a new partnership with GoodMaps. This new relationship introduces an accessible wayfinding solution for all passengers, including riders who are blind or have low vision; riders who are deaf or hard of hearing; riders who experience reduced mobility; riders who are neurodivergent; people who feels anxious or uncomfortable in new or complex environments; and anyone who just wants to find their way more efficiently. By providing real-time, turn-by-turn directions via a smartphone app, GoodMaps helps passengers navigate more confidently and with an increased sense of independence. You can download the GoodMaps app on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store today!
The service is currently available for the 1 Line at Sound Transit’s Westlake and International District/Chinatown stations, with plans to introduce mapping across the whole network in the future.
GoodMaps will be holding its official launch event on Wednesday, Feb. 21 from noon to 6 p.m. at the Westlake Station mezzanine. Stop by to meet the app team in person, test the app for yourself, and share your feedback with the developers!
Stay updated!
We encourage you to follow us on Facebook, X (formerly known as Twitter), and Instagram @SoundTransit and forward email updates like this to family, friends, neighbors, and your community! Expanding light rail to Snohomish County is new for many community members, and we are trying to reach as many people as possible. Your voice matters and we hope that you stay engaged with this project as it moves forward.
We are happy to meet with community groups to provide more information about the project. Please reach out to us at everettlink@soundtransit.org to request a briefing.
