As the weather turns from gloomy shades of gray to vibrant hues of color, we can’t help but notice that spring has sprung.  

Maybe you’ve already started working your green thumb, or perhaps a seed of curiosity has been planted and you want to know where to start your gardening journey. Either way, consider this your ‘Link’ to a blooming adventure.  

We’ve dug up a list of nurseries near train stations where you can find everything from native plants to exotic flowers, plus expert advice to help your garden thrive. These easy-to-reach spots have you covered—no car needed! 

Seattle Nurseries

Fancy Plants

0.6 miles from Roosevelt Station (1 Line) 

A go-to plant shop dedicated to nurturing healthy houseplants and curating community through workshops and sharing plant knowledge. Fancy Plants is open Wednesday through Sunday, noon to 6 p.m., and if you stop in at the right time, you may also run into their resident shop dog, Pork Bun.

Urban Jungle Plant Shop

0.5 miles from Westlake Station (1 Line)  

Urban Jungle is a highly rated Seattle Plant shop featuring an excellent variety of unique and high-quality indoor houseplants, rare plants, planters and useful accessories. Added bonus: they have some incredible merchandise! You can stop by their store from noon to 5 p.m. any Thursday through Sunday. 

Urban Feed and Garden

0.6-0.8 miles from Columbia City Station (1 Line)  

Are you loyal to the local? Then Urban Feed and Garden might be your new haven. Their brick-and-mortar store focuses on connecting with community and supporting local makers. Open Monday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., this gem is a one-stop shop for your gardening and pet supply needs (and yes, that includes chickens!)

0.1 miles from Commerce St Station (T Line)  

Looking for a new tropical house plant? Also in need of some trendy, vintage clothing? Then hop on the T Line and head to Planterior any Wednesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

 

Everett Nurseries

Stadium Flowers

0.6 miles from Everett Station (N Line)  

Known for their incredible floral selection, Stadium Flowers is also home to an incredible collection of succulents, air, flowering and green plants to parous. Open seven days a week (hours vary by day), the flagship store in Everett is still at the same location as when it opened in 1947.
