Senior Talent Advisor Emily Von Seele loves connecting candidates "with a job that they will enjoy and can grow in."
"Not every job is going to be a dream job, but it can be a good experience, and I enjoy getting to be a part of that process," she said.
Before coming to Sound Transit, she worked in HR for a law firm, and before that, in the Career Services Office at the Seattle University School of Law.
She's our latest "Inside Sound Transit" guest – where we introduce you to the people working to make it easier to get to where you live, work and play!
Now, on to the questions!
Q: What do you tell your friends you do for work?
A: I tell my friends that I am a Recruiter at Sound Transit – simple and straightforward!
Q: What’s your passion outside of your job?
A: I am a huge movie nerd. Pre-pandemic, you could find me at the movie theater at least once a week. Looking forward to getting back to that point.
Q: What attracted you to work at Sound Transit?
A: Having come from a law firm, I was excited about the possibility of working for an employer that was community-oriented and mission driven. During my interview process, I really connected with the Talent Acquisition team and was excited about the way they approached their work and the amount of passion that they all had. I was excited to join.
Q: How do you get to work?
A: Currently, I stumble out of my bedroom, walk about 15 feet and hang a left into my tiny home office.
Q: What three things would you take with you to a desert island (besides food and water)?
A: A kitty, some popcorn and a laptop pre-loaded with a 4k version of "Jaws." It’s the best movie ever and I never get tired of watching it, so it will definitely keep my occupied until a rescue party arrives.
