In October, we are launching our passenger experience survey to take a pulse on our passenger’s thoughts about riding sound transit and to identify areas to improve our services.
The passenger experience survey asks Sound Transit riders to grade us across eight broad categories: cleanliness, maintenance, safety, availability, accessibility, dependability, passenger information, and passenger care.
This year, we are using a new questionnaire where we also ask riders to identify specific issues that impact their experience on our services to make our results more specific and actionable.
Our survey is open now through Nov. 22. As a gesture of our appreciation for those who participate, passengers who complete the survey will become eligible to enter a drawing for $100 and $250 gift cards.
Fifteen people will have a chance to win a $100 gift card, and four people will have a chance to win a $250 gift card.
Previous wave
In the Summer 2022 wave of the survey, respondents gave Sound Transit B as an overall grade. This was the same grade that we received in the spring of 2022, and a decrease from the B+ we received in 2021.
Our passengers considered that cleanliness, availability, and safety were the most important to their experience.
Respondents identified key areas of improvement including:

The working order of benches, railings, elevators, escalators, and restrooms at stations and stops.

The frequency of operations across the entire day and increasing availability of service areas.

Respondents suggested that the presence of Sound Transit security increases feelings of safety when riding our services.
