Planned service disruptions

Expanding transit throughout the region involves more than building the projects. We have to ensure our existing operations are in good shape as we prepare to expand our transit system.

Over time, the vehicles, tracks, and facilities will need maintenance to remain reliable. Passengers should plan for periods of less frequent Link service, and when needed, replacement bus service.

  • 5/4-5/29:
    • On weeknights after 8 p.m. between 5/4 and 5/9, 2 Line trains will truncate at Northgate Station.
      • Passengers on the 2 Line looking to travel northbound through Northgate should expect to transfer to a 1 Line train to complete their journey.
      • Passengers looking to travel southbound through Northgate should expect to transfer from a 1 Line train to a 2 Line train to reach 2 Line-only stations.
  • 5/26-5/28:
    • From 11 p.m. to end of service on 5/26, 5/27, and 5/28, the 1 Line will be disrupted between Angle Lake and Federal Way stations.
      • Between Lynnwood City Center Station and Angle Lake Station, the 1 Line will operate as scheduled.
      • Between Angle Lake Station and Federal Way Downtown Station, bus shuttles will replace 1 Line service.
  • 5/30-5/31:
    • On May 30–31, the 1 Line and 2 Line will experience significant service disruptions to allow for scheduled maintenance on the Crosslake Connection and rail replacement through the downtown Seattle stations.

    • During this time, the 1 Line will be closed between Capitol Hill and Stadium stations.

      • 1 Line trains will operate every 10-15 minutes between Lynnwood City Center and Capitol Hill stations.

        • Shuttle buses will operate every 10 minutes between Capitol Hill and Stadium stations.

      • Passengers wishing to travel along the 2 Line alignment towards Downtown Redmond Station can transfer to a separate 2 Line shuttle bus at International District/Chinatown Station.

      • 1 Line trains will operate every 10-15 minutes between Stadium and Federal Way Downtown stations.

    • The 2 Line will also be closed between Capitol Hill and South Bellevue stations.

      • No 2 Line trains will operate between Lynnwood City Center and Capitol Hill stations during this disruption.

        • Passengers can take 1 Line trains that serve these stations.

      • 2 Line passengers will need to board a 1 Line shuttle bus at Capitol Hill Station. This shuttle will operate every 10-15 minutes.

        • The 2 Line shuttle bus will begin service from International District/Chinatown Station. Passengers must board this shuttle to travel toward South Bellevue Station.

        • To avoid shuttle transfers, passengers may consider taking alternative bus routes between their destinations.

      • 2 Line trains will operate between South Bellevue Station and Downtown Redmond Station every 10-15 minutes.
