Link Light Rail Ticket Vending Machines Off-Line at 11:30 p.m. Tonight
In order to facilitate the smooth transition to the new ORCA system, all Link light rail Ticket Vending Machines will be out of service beginning at 11:30 p.m., tonight May 13, and will remain out of service until 2:59 a.m., Monday May 16. ORCA card readers will be active, and riders are encouraged to still tap on and tap off until the end of Link service at 1 a.m.
Fares will not be collected Saturday May 14 and Sunday May 15, on all Sound Transit modes and most ORCA participating transit providers.
Over the weekend, ORCA balances will be transferred to the new system, but not full account information. The current ORCA website is no longer available and the new website myORCA.com will be live on May 16. All ticket vending machines, and card readers will be out of service over the weekend.
All current ORCA cards, including youth, senior, ORCA LIFT and reduced fare cards, will continue to work on the new system. ORCA customers do not need to get a new card.
ORCA users are encouraged to create an account on the new website, myORCA.com beginning May 16 and in the coming weeks. A new account is not required to access the new system.
All transit riders may experience disruptions when paying fares while ORCA equipment and account access upgrades are in process over the coming weeks. This overall effort spans more than 6,000 pieces of equipment and involves transferring more than 5 million ORCA customer accounts to the new system.
