Sound Transit will suspend 1 Line service from opening until 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23 between Westlake and SODO stations. This closure is necessary to accommodate the relocation and testing of barrier operations near the junction of 1 and 2 Line tracks adjacent to International District/Chinatown Station.

During the disruption, trains will operate every 12 minutes between Lynnwood City Center and Westlake, and between Angle Lake and SODO.

1 Line shuttle buses will operate between Westlake and SODO every 10-15 minutes, making all intermediate stops.

Passengers traveling southbound through downtown Seattle will need to exit trains at Westlake Station and board shuttle buses serving Symphony, Pioneer Square, International District/Chinatown, Stadium and SODO stations. Southbound passengers can then re-board Link at SODO Station to continue south.

Northbound passengers will likewise board shuttle buses at SODO Station and can reconnect to Link at Westlake for the remainder of their journey.

Staff ambassadors will be available to assist passengers at some stations.

A language line is available to provide translation assistance for passengers with limited proficiency in English at 800-823-9230.

Sound Transit remains committed to working closely with its partners to continue serving the public. Efforts will continue to prioritize serving riders who depend on Sound Transit’s services, including seniors, people with disabilities, Title VI-protected populations (race, color, national origin), passengers with low- incomes, and those with limited proficiency in English.
