Construction crews set up SR 520 construction area

Sound Transit's contractor is moving forward with construction of the light rail extension into downtown Redmond. Starting as soon as Aug. 3, construction crews will begin working on the shoulder of eastbound SR 520 in Redmond. Crews will begin with creating a haul road to enable access to the area that will eventually house the light rail system.
Where
Eastbound SR 520 between NE 40th Street and West Lake Sammamish Parkway.
When
Crews typically work Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. but activities that need SR 520 lane closures will from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly.

Construction activities will include:
- Fencing and barrier installation to protect sensitive environments and structures.
- Barrier installation to protect workers.
- Sign removal.
- Tree and plant removal.
