Intermittent closures of 77th Ave. and 80th Ave. sidewalks
Beginning as early as Wednesday, Jan. 8, the sidewalk along 77th Ave. between N. Mercer Way and Sunset Highway SE will be partially reopened for pedestrian use. Please note that the sidewalk will be closed intermittently to accommodate continued work at Mercer Island Station. These short-term closures are expected to occur occasionally Monday – Saturday between 7 a.m. – 5 p.m., during which time pedestrians can use the detour route along 80th Ave.
Upon reopening the 77th Ave. sidewalk, the 80th Ave. sidewalk between N. Mercer Way and SE 27th St. will be intermittently closed to pedestrian access to allow for utility installation and trail restoration. This work is expected to continue for 3 – 4 weeks, depending on weather conditions. During these closures, the 77th Ave. sidewalk will serve as a detour route. Either the 77th Ave. or 80th Ave. sidewalk will be open for pedestrians at all times. Please follow detour signs to ensure safety near work zones.
