Overnight work at West Mercer Way and 60th Avenue Southeast

Beginning as early as Tuesday, October 6 at 9 p.m., a traction power substation (TPSS) will be delivered and installed on I-90 near the West Mercer Way westbound on-ramp and 60th Avenue Southeast. TPSS units provide electricity to the overhead wires, which power light rail vehicles. To safely complete this work, the West Mercer Way westbound on-ramp will close overnight as crews lift the TPSS unit into place. Traffic will also be reduced to one-lane alternating direction along 60th Avenue Southeast to accommodate the crane and placement.
