Partial street closures and traffic impacts during removal of tower crane

Closure of NE 43rd Street between 12th Ave NE and Brooklyn Ave NE and intermittent closure of 12th Ave NE between NE 45th and NE 43rd Street while Sound Transit’s contractor takes down and removes the tower crane at the U District Station (UDS) site. There will be traffic impacts (see map).

Street closures:

• NE 43rd Street between 12th Ave NE and Brooklyn Ave NE — Friday, 11/30/18, 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Work will stop at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, 12/1/18, 6:00 a.m. to Sunday, 12/2/18, 9:00 p.m.
• 12th Ave NE between NE 45th and NE 43rd street — Friday, 11/30/18, 11:00 a.m. to Sunday, 12/2/18, 9:00 p.m.

Crane take down and removal:

• Friday, 11/30/18, 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday, 12/1/18, 6:00 a.m. to Sunday, 12/2/18, 9:00 p.m.

• No parking signs will be placed along 12th Ave NE between NE 45th and NE 43rd street, and NE 43rd street between 11th Ave NE and 12th Ave NE.
• The Pedestrian pathway around the UDS site will be closed on Friday, 11/30/18.
• Uniformed police officers will be present (see map).
• The contractor has obtained a Temporary Noise Variance to do this work.
• Plan ahead, leave early and allow extra time to reach your destination.
