Pedestrian pathway closed this weekend

Pathway hours: Monday-Friday from 7 am to 6 pm

A temporary pedestrian pathway is being used next to the Varsity Arms condos during working hours to help pedestrians get around construction.

The pathway will be open Monday through Friday between 7 am and 6 pm for the next two weeks.

PEDESTRIAN AND CYCLIST DETOURS

When the pathway is closed, pedestrians and cyclists can use the following detour routes to travel east-west around the construction site:

12th Avenue NE

  • North on 12th Ave NE, then East on NE 45th St
  • South on 12th Ave NE, then East on NE 42nd St

Brooklyn Avenue NE

  • North on Brooklyn Ave NE, then East on NE 43rd St
  • South on Brooklyn Ave NE, then East/West on NE 42nd St

University Way NE

  • North on University Way NE, then West on NE 45th St
  • South on University Way NE, then West on NE 42nd St

When the pathway is complete this spring, it will feature gates, signage, a corner visibility mirror, and fencing.
