S Line - Seattle – Lakewood/Tacoma

The S line train will depart King Street Station at 4:45pm and return from Tacoma Dome Station at 11:15pm.
Seahawks vs. Cardinals

Want to spread out a bit on your Sounder S Line ride to the game? Head for the northernmost train cars—they're usually a lot less crowded! For even more breathing room, try catching the second S line train in and out of Seattle; it’s generally a bit roomier than the first one. Enjoy the extra space!
Beginning Tuesday, November 12, Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) will start sidewalk improvements on the north side of S Jackson St, between 2nd Ave Ext S and 4th Ave S, the sidewalks and crosswalks at 2nd Ave Ext S and 4th Ave S. This will also affect access to the King County Metro bus island on 4th Ave S between S Jackson St and S Main St (bus stop ID 619).

The stairwell serving the north end of the King Street Station Sounder platform and S Jackson Street will be closed. All Sounder passengers must enter and exit via the Weller Street bridge or, if there is an elevator outage on the bridge, from the Amtrak depot.

For more information about the SDOT sidewalk project, contact SDOT by email at 684-Road@seattle.gov or by phone at (206) 684-7623.

Note that the work schedule could change. Passengers should subscribe to King Street Station or Sounder alerts for updated information about the stairwell closure. Visit the Service Alerts web page to sign up and find current information on service disruptions.

King County Metro bus passengers who ordinarily use the bus island on 4th Ave S, between S Jackson St and S Main St (bus stop ID 619), should refer to King County Metro (KCM) for service advisories with detour/alternate stop information. You can call KCM from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday at 206-553-3000.

On Monday, Feb. 19, Sound Transit's contractor will close approximately 190 parking stalls at Sumner Station, to make room for garage construction. We expect the closure to last about two years. At least 110 stalls will always be available, including the 68 stalls in the lot north of Maple Street.

The work will be done in phases. During Phase 1, which may last several months, approximately 40 stalls will remain open in the station’s southwest triangle lot. This includes ADA stalls, motorcycle stalls and pick-up and drop-off stalls will be in this area. (There are also pick-up and drop-off spaces on Traffic Avenue.) During Phase 1, Narrow Street will be closed to through traffic at Maple Ave, and Academy Street will be closed to through traffic at Cherry Street.

We recommend passengers make alternate plans for getting to a Sounder station as detailed in earlier alerts, including driving to  Puyallup Station, Bonney Lake Park-and-Ride Lot, walking or bicycling, or applying for a carpool permit. One new option for east Sumner residents to get to the station is the City's Commuter Connector residential loop shuttle that travels between East Sumner and the station.
