Sounder King Street Station north entrance will be affected by SDOT project from Tuesday, November 12 until Tuesday, November 26. The repair work will take place from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. daily.
In effect: Nov. 12-26
Routes: N Line & S Line
SDOT’s planned work hours are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, for an estimated 2 weeks.
During these hours, the stairwell serving the north end of the King Street Station Sounder platform and S Jackson Street will be closed. All Sounder passengers must enter and exit via the Weller Street bridge or, if there is an elevator outage on the bridge, from the Amtrak depot.
For more information about the SDOT sidewalk project, contact SDOT by email at 684-Road@seattle.gov or by phone at (206) 684-7623.
Note that the work schedule could change. Passengers should subscribe to King Street Station or Sounder alerts for updated information about the stairwell closure. Visit the Service Alerts web page to sign up and find current information on service disruptions.
King County Metro bus passengers who ordinarily use the bus island on 4th Ave S, between S Jackson St and S Main St (bus stop ID 619), should refer to King County Metro (KCM) for service advisories with detour/alternate stop information. You can call KCM from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday at 206-553-3000.
Sumner parking closure starts Feb. 19 to make room for garage construction. 190 stalls to be closed.
In effect: Feb. 19, 3:00 a.m.
Routes: S Line
The work will be done in phases. During Phase 1, which may last several months, approximately 40 stalls will remain open in the station’s southwest triangle lot. This includes ADA stalls, motorcycle stalls and pick-up and drop-off stalls will be in this area. (There are also pick-up and drop-off spaces on Traffic Avenue.) During Phase 1, Narrow Street will be closed to through traffic at Maple Ave, and Academy Street will be closed to through traffic at Cherry Street.
We recommend passengers make alternate plans for getting to a Sounder station as detailed in earlier alerts, including driving to Puyallup Station, Bonney Lake Park-and-Ride Lot, walking or bicycling, or applying for a carpool permit. One new option for east Sumner residents to get to the station is the City's Commuter Connector residential loop shuttle that travels between East Sumner and the station.
