Opening day schedule
Ribbon cutting (11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.)
Starting at 11 a.m. at the Lynnwood City Center Station plaza, Sound Transit will kick off opening celebrations with a public ribbon-cutting event. After speeches by local leaders, the ribbon will officially be cut around 12:30 p.m., and riders will be welcomed onboard the new 1 Line Extension to Lynnwood for the very first time.
The Lynnwood City Center Station garage will be open for those planning to drive. Carpooling, biking, walking, or using transit options like Community Transit’s Swift Orange Line are encouraged.
Night market (4 p.m. – 8 p.m.)
Looking to continue the celebration? Return for the 1 Line Night Market! Enjoy festivities at each of the four new stations led by the North City Neighborhood Association (NCNA), Shoreline Chamber of Commerce, Mountlake Terrace Chamber of Commerce, Snotrac, Asian Service Center and Lynnwood Chamber of Commerce. You’ll find everything from a bouncy house, food trucks, face painting, live music, giveaways and so much more. And don’t forget to play Discover. Stamp. Win! along the way!
Station-by-station night market events
Lynnwood City Center Station
Celebrate the grand opening of the Lynnwood City Center Station with live music, food trucks, cultural performances, arts and crafts, and many fun activities for kids of all ages.
Take photos with the Mariner Moose, Kraken Buoy, and Aqua Sox’s Webbly. Watch a Lion Dance, jump in a bounce house, play cornhole and video games, purchase handmade goods from local makers, learn about future development happening in Lynnwood, and so much more!

Mountlake Terrace Station
Join us for a historic celebration during the Mountlake Terrace Light Rail Opening Festival! Enjoy live music, magical performances, kid-friendly activities, food trucks, and photo-worthy experiences for the entire family (pups included). Discover the vibrant community of Mountlake Terrace, and don't miss your chance to win exciting prizes while creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Shoreline North/185th Station
Join the fun at the North City Neighborhood Association's "Let’s Get Moving!" celebration!
Enjoy a vibrant mix of dance and music with performances from local Hip Hop teams, a traditional Lion Dance, and a lively ‘60s Go-Go Dance Party. Keep the energy up with DJ Kurt Bloch and Emcee Troy Nelson from KEXP. Head to the upstairs deck for bike and scooter demos from Lime, plus free helmet giveaways. Indulge in a variety of eats at the Food Village, featuring food trucks and local vendors, and explore the marketplace on the main plaza with goods and information from public agencies, nonprofits, and local artisans.

Shoreline South/148th Station
Come celebrate the grand opening of the Shoreline South light rail station at 148th with us!
Festivities will include a main stage with live music, food trucks, vendor stalls, free popcorn, and a variety of family-friendly games and activities.

We respectfully acknowledge the rich cultural heritage and historical significance of Night Markets, which originated in Chinese communities tracing back to the Tang dynasty. These markets have long been a cornerstone of communal life, providing vibrant spaces for social gathering, commerce, and celebration. We honor and pay respect to the Asian communities, both past and present, who have cultivated these traditions and continue to share them.
