Back in December 2020, the Columbia City Night Market was just a small spark of an idea, fueled by a big dream.
With only 10 vendors initially, it set out with a mission: to give local talents a stage to shine. Fast forward to today, and it's become a beloved fixture in Seattle, a true success story.
Now boasting a bustling lineup of 75 vendors and food trucks, not to mention live performances and a lively beer garden, it's not just a market anymore—it's a vibrant community space.
From its humble beginnings, it's grown into something truly special, weaving together commerce, culture, and community to capture the essence of Seattle's diverse spirit.
What can I expect at the Columbia City Night Market?
The night market is located just 0.4 miles away from the Columbia City light rail station on 37th Ave S. between S. Hudson and S. Edmonds streets and takes place from 6- 10 p.m. on the third Saturday of every month.
Peace Peloton updates vendor lists, entertainment and more on their Instagram before each market - so make sure to give them a follow @peace_peloton!
When you first step into the market, you are greeted with an infectious energy. Live music, dancing, laughter and a palpable energy fill the air. People bring their families and pets (except to the beer garden, where the minimum age is 21) and folks from all walks of life mingle, connect and share in the experience. Games and activities, like cornhole, are available for folks to enjoy as well.
But the night market isn't the only reason to stop by the neighborhood. On their website, you can find a guide to the incredible night life options that surround the market so that you can add more fun to your outing. In fact, many of the business around the night market were previously featured in our "Black Owned Businesses" article, published in February. You can see a full list of options, provided by Peace Peloton, here.
