We aren’t just growing transit, we’re building connections. Check out the milestones we celebrated in 2021 and get a look at what’s next on the horizon in our 2022 Progress Report.
Through many months of pandemic challenges, Sound Transit delivered something for our region to celebrate last fall as riders welcomed the arrival of Link light rail to Seattle’s U District, Roosevelt and Northgate neighborhoods. There’s never been a more exciting time to explore where Sound Transit can take you.
We're also opening five more Link light rail extensions in the next three years. And we won't stop there!
Our annual Progress Report goes to every household in the Sound Transit district and starts arriving in mailboxes this week, so check your mailbox for your print copy.
Some teasers from the report:
- We’re getting ready to open 25 additional stations by 2024 to connect people to Tacoma’s Hilltop neighborhood, Mercer Island, Bellevue, Redmond, Lynnwood and Federal Way.
- We’re also making it easier to take Sounder trains. A new garage and parking lot opens this year at Puyallup Station, and we’ll debut more improvements in Sumner, Auburn and Kent in 2025.
- You can learn about our new Stride bus rapid transit service, launching in 2026 and 2027. It’ll connect communities north, east and south of Lake Washington along I-405 and SR 522.
