Today, Sound Transit joins other transit agencies in recognizing Transit Driver Appreciation Day.
This special day was started by Seattle transit advocates in 2009 and has grown into a nationally recognized day of appreciation for transit operators.
To the operators of Link light rail, ST Express buses, Tacoma Link, Sounder and many more modes of transit around the Puget Sound, we thank you for your commitment to passengers and for your invaluable service in connecting more people to more places.
You literally keep us all moving, which has been especially appreciated these past two tough years.
If you’re riding the train or the bus today, make sure to thank your driver with a smile and a wave when you board, and a "thank you" when you leave.
You can also send an email to main@soundtransit.org or thank your driver through our official feedback channels and your kind words will go into their work records, or share your kudos via Facebook or Twitter or by email at main@soundtransit.org.
If you want to send a thank you note to your favorite transit operator, station agent, conductor, engineer or the maintenance crews who keep everything running, here's a list of their addresses. All of these bases have giant bulletin boards where an old-fashioned note reaches a lot of people directly.
