Online open house for Edmonds and Mukilteo Sounder parking and access improvement project now available
With $40 million in funding approved by voters in 2016 as part of ST3, Sound Transit is planning for improved parking and access options at Edmonds and Mukilteo Stations, such as additional parking; better walking, biking and transit connections; and convenient pickup and drop-off areas.
Sound Transit is inviting the public to an online open house to learn more about the project and provide Sound Transit with input that will help inform the agency’s decisions about potential options. All improvements will be complete by 2024.
The online open house will be available through April 8 at edmondsmukilteo.infocommunity.org.
In addition, the public is invited to attend drop-in sessions to talk to Sound Transit staff about the project on the following dates:
- Saturday, March 23, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Edmonds Library, 650 Main Street
- Saturday, March 30, 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. Mukilteo Library, 4675 Harbour Point Blvd.
- Sunday, March 31, 9 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Edmonds and Mukilteo station platforms
Sounder offers dependable, congestion-free commuter service connecting Everett, Mukilteo and Edmonds to Seattle as well as special event service for select weekend Mariners, Sounders FC and Seahawks games. There are four roundtrips each weekday morning and afternoon, with Wi-Fi and restrooms on board.
A trip to Seattle’s King Street Station takes approximately 30 minutes from Edmonds and 45 minutes from Mukilteo. Riders with monthly passes have access to additional weekday trips between Seattle, Edmonds, and Everett on Amtrak Cascades through the RailPlus program. (Amtrak Cascades trains do not stop at Mukilteo Station).
Starting April 1, riders can reserve a parking spot at Edmonds and Mukilteo stations until 8 a.m. on weekdays by purchasing a solo-driver permit or signing up for a free carpool permit. To learn more or to apply for a parking permit, please visit https://www.soundtransit.org/ride-with-us/parking
