BelRed update: Tree removal and repurposing for wetland mitigation

Sound Transit’s crews have begun tree removal activities along NE Spring Blvd and 136th Pl NE. You may have noticed tree trunks in place along the roadways. As part of Sound Transit’s commitment to sustainability, trunks that currently remain in place along NE Spring Blvd and 136th Pl NE will be repurposed in the Kelsey Creek West Tributary site closer to 124th Ave NE in order to reestablish a wetland and perform stream enhancement. Crews will remove the trunks over the course of the next few weeks and deliver them to the mitigation site.
