New East Link construction activities could affect how people move through the Overlake neighborhood
On Monday, Oct. 29, crews working at the Redmond Technology station began nightly closures of southbound lanes of 156th Avenue Northeast between Northeast 36th and Northeast 40th streets to relocate utility lines. This work is happening at night to minimize traffic disruptions through the busy commuter corridor. Night work is expected to last through Friday, Nov. 16.
Starting at soon as Wednesday, Oct. 31, crews working on the Overlake Village Station will start construction of the footing for a future bicycle/pedestrian bridge connecting the station to the SR 520 trail. Trail users will need to take a short temporary bypass around the work.
Our contractor continues to work at night to build the elevated guideway portion of the light rail extension over the 148th Avenue Northeast and eastbound SR 520 interchange. Crews are installing new girders to the south of 148th Avenue Northeast requiring nightly detours in the interchange.
