Night closures on I-405 in downtown Bellevue

Overnight drivers should be aware of upcoming closures on I-405 in downtown Bellevue. As part of East Link light rail construction over Interstate 405, Sound Transit's contractor will continue to remove overhead falsework on the elevated horizontal structures in Bellevue on Monday, June 17th. 

To do this work, crews will reduce lanes and close ramps on I-405 in downtown Bellevue during the night hours.

Additionally, the contractor will fully close southbound I-405 on night of Monday, June 17th and northbound I-405 the night of Wednesday, June 19th.

A by-pass will be available during both directional closures via the Northeast 8th Street off-ramp (Exit 13B) to detour week night drivers.

Monday, June 17th
  • Sound Transit's contractor will fully close the southbound I-405 (11:59 p.m. to 4 a.m.) from Northeast 10th Street to Main Street.
  • The northbound I-405 off-ramp and the southbound on-ramp to and from Northeast 6th Street (9 p.m. – 5 a.m.) will be closed.

Tuesday, June 18th
  • Crews will close one right lane on northbound I-405 (8 p.m. – 5 a.m.) from Northeast 10th Street to Main Street.
  • The Northeast 4th Street to northbound I-405 on-ramp (10 p.m. to 5 a.m.) will be closed. 
  • The Northeast 8th Street (Exit 13B) off-ramp via northbound I-405 (10 p.m. to 5 a.m.) will also be closed while work is occurring.
  • The Northeast 4th Street (Exit 13A) off-ramp via southbound I-405 (10 p.m. to 5 a.m.) will be closed. 
  • The Northeast 8th Street on-ramps to southbound I-405 (10 p.m. to 5 a.m.) will also be closed.

Wednesday, June 19th
  • Crews will fully close the northbound I-405 (11:59 p.m. to 4 a.m.) from Northeast 10th Street to Main Street.
  • The northbound I-405 off-ramp and the southbound on-ramp to and from Northeast 6th Street (9 p.m. – 5 a.m.) will be closed.

Thursday, June 20th
  • The northbound I-405 off-ramp and the southbound on-ramp to and from Northeast 6th Street (9 p.m. – 5 a.m.) will be closed.
  • Crews will also close one left lane on southbound I-405 and one left lane on northbound I-405 (8 p.m. – 5 a.m.) from Northeast 10th Street to Main Street.
  • Please follow the direction of flaggers and signed detours to safely access your destination. 
  • Please plan ahead, leave early and allow extra time to reach your destination.
