Our informational online open house is live!

Publish Date

At Sound Transit, we’ve been doing everything we can to help keep our communities safe. To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, we have shifted to remote engagement for the West Seattle and Ballard Link Extensions project. Even though we are not able to get together in person at this time, we are committed to keeping the communities we work with informed and are excited to share the latest with you.

We have launched a new online open house to share information about our project in advance of the release of the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) in mid-2021. The updated site features an overview of our environmental review process along with detailed maps, elevation profiles and descriptions of each alternative currently being studied. Additionally, we have new maps for each proposed station and cross-sections for all elevated stations, along with information about how people could walk, roll, bike, or take transit to potential station locations. This content will remain available for you to review at your convenience and will be updated as new information becomes available.

Looking forward to the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS)

After we prepare and publish the Draft EIS anticipated in mid-2021*, we’ll launch a public comment period when we’ll ask for feedback from you and our partner agencies about route and station locations and their potential effects. In the meantime, we want to make sure you have as much information as possible now so you’ll be prepared to participate in that process when it begins next year.

If you have any questions after exploring our online open house, we can answer them in whatever way works best for you. Whether it be by email, phone call, or a virtual briefing with you and other members of your community, we are happy to accommodate your needs.

Thank you for your interest in this project. We look forward to connecting with you in-person soon – but until then, we hope to see you online!
