Off-peak daily Island Crest Way westbound HOV ramp closures

Beginning as early as Tuesday, September 5 and lasting until Monday, September 18, the Island Crest Way westbound HOV on-ramp will close daily during off-peak daytime hours to minimize traffic impacts. See below for specific dates and times.

Monday, September 11 - Sunday, September 17 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Sound Transit’s contractor will use these closures to relocate traffic system cabinets and demolish concrete to prepare for Mercer Island station construction.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • Island Crest Way westbound HOV on-ramp will be close daily during off-peak daytime hours from Tuesday, September 5 until Monday, September 18. 
  • Please use the 76th Avenue and West Mercer Way Westbound on-ramps during this closure.
  • Crews will relocate existing traffic system cabinets within the tunnel and demolish concrete.
  • Crews will work in the existing right of way with traffic control in place. Please follow signed detours and flaggers to safely access your destination.
