Summer Safety – Responding to COVID-19

Publish Date

At Sound Transit, the summer season is an exciting time to engage with the communities we work in by attending various fairs and festivals to share information and help answer your questions about our projects.

This year, our typical summer engagement has not been possible due to COVID-19 and ongoing recommendations to socially distance as much as possible. The West Seattle and Ballard Link Extensions project team will continue to prioritize engagement through digital platforms for the safety and well-being of the community and our staff.

While you may not find us at an info booth this summer, we remain available to conduct virtual briefings to your organization and can connect with you via phone (206) 903-7229 or email wsblink@soundtransit.org

We know that this continues to be a challenging time for everyone, and we are here to support the communities we work in. We hope that sunnier days lie ahead for all of us.

What’s next on the project?

Our team has been busy over the last several months preparing the West Seattle and Ballard Link Extension’s Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS), a document that describes the project’s potential effects on the natural, built and social environment. We anticipate releasing the document in early 2021 for public review and comment.

Later this year, you can expect to hear from us about how to get prepared to comment on the Draft EIS, an update on station planning and we’ll be reaching out to potentially affected property owners.
