On Saturday, Nov. 18, Sound Transit's contractor will install communication fiber to support the future Mercer Island station. To safely complete this work, crews will close the 80th Avenue westbound HOV off-ramp and the I-90 westbound HOV lane, adjacent to the station work zone.

80th Avenue westbound HOV off-ramp and the I-90 westbound HOV lane will be closed 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18. Drivers will be able to use the Island Crest Way and East Mercer Way westbound off-ramps.

What you can expect:

  • Crews will dig trenches and install fiber optic communications cable.
  • Crews will work in the existing right of way with traffic control in place. Please follow signed detours and flaggers to safely access your destination.
