Upcoming I-90 Ramp and Lane Closures: September 21 – 23

Sound Transit’s contractors will be implementing various I-90 ramp and lane closures beginning as early as Thursday, September 21 and lasting until Saturday, September 23. These closures will impact the Island Crest Way HOV Westbound on-ramp and the 80th Avenue SE HOV Westbound Off-ramp.

Crews will use these closures to continue work inside the Island Crest Way tunnel and install utility reinforcements. See below for more information:

  • Island Crest Way westbound HOV on-ramp Closure
    The Island Crest Way westbound HOV on-ramp will close during off-peak hours (9 a.m. – 3 p.m.) daily on Thursday September 21 and Friday September 22. Drivers will be able to use the 76th Avenue and West Mercer Way Westbound on-ramps.
  • 80th Avenue SE westbound HOV off-ramp Closure
    The 80th Avenue SE westbound HOV off-ramp will be closed Saturday, September 23, from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m.

Looking Ahead – Week of September 25
Next week, additional closures are planned for both East- and Westbound Island Crest Way HOV ramps. Once this closure has been confirmed, signage will be in place to notify drivers. See below for more information:

  • Island Crest Way Eastbound HOV off-ramp is planned to be closed overnight on Saturday September 30, from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. Once this closure has been confirmed, signage will be in place to notify drivers.
  • Island Crest Way Westbound HOV on-ramp is planned to be closed nightly on beginning Friday, September 29 through Sunday, October 1, from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m.
