Stakeholders and partners

Community input is critical to the key decisions the Sound Transit Board figures out. Public feedback, the Stakeholder Group, and Elected Leadership Group helped decide alternatives during the project's environmental review phase. The Sound Transit Board selected the preferred alternative in July 2019.

Elected Leadership Group

The Elected Leadership Group includes representatives from both the project corridor and the Sound Transit Board. This group represents local perspectives in the planning process. They strive for consensus around key decisions and work through project issues as needed.

The Elected Leadership Group:

  • Appointed Stakeholder Group members.
  • Considers project needs within the context of the greater transit system.
  • Works with project staff to understand and evaluate tradeoffs.
  • Represents the communities they serve and shared community priorities.
  • Recommended a preferred alternative to the Sound Transit Board for consideration based on input from the Stakeholder Advisory Group, the public, and the voter-approved project scope, schedule and available funding.
  • The ELG will continue to meet throughout the project to share updates on key project milestones and upcoming board decisions.
