As we roar into the holiday season this week, remember Sound Transit is here to make your trips easier to shopping, star lighting and Apple Cup cheering.
Black Friday transit options
Sounder commuter rail from Everett and Lakewood will run on a reduced weekday schedule Friday.
But that still gives you plenty of options to take the train to Seattle for the annual Macy's Holiday Parade and tree lighting in downtown Seattle!
Take Sounder to King Street Station, walk east across 4th Avenue and catch Link light rail from the International District/Chinatown Station to Westlake or University Street stations along the parade route and enjoy the show.
Apple Cup express
Headed to the annual Apple Cup football game between the University of Washington and Washington State at Husky Stadium?
With a 1 p.m. kickoff, riders coming from the Everett or Tacoma/Lakewood areas can take Sounder to the game and forget about traffic hassles on I-5!
Take Sounder to King Street Station in Seattle, walk east across 4th Avenue and catch Link light rail from International District/Chinatown Station to the University of Washington Station.
It's an 11-minute trip from the International District to UW. You'll spend more time waiting in the bathroom line at halftime than that.
And don't forget, your Apple Cup ticket counts as your ticket to ride Link light rail!
But you will need to buy a ticket to ride Sounder.
Purchase your round-trip ticket from the ticket vending machine at your home station or better yet, download the Transit Go Ticket App and use your phone to buy your tickets and skip the ticket lines.
