University Street North Mezzanine elevators to Benaroya Hall lobby reduced service hours in 2024
In effect: Dec. 29, 6:00 p.m.

On certain weekends and evenings, the Benaroya Hall Boeing Gallery will offer access to University Street Station from 2.5 hours prior to any public event through its conclusion. See the Seattle Symphony’s calendar of Benaroya Hall events for dates and times of public events.
The elevators will be in service at the specified times. Please use alternate elevators when these elevators are not in service.
The University Street Station entrance on 3rd Avenue and Seneca Street (Exit C) will experience a full closure to allow for station maintenance from July 10 to July 17.

Please use the alternate entrances located on 3rd Avenue and University Street (Exit A1) or 2nd Avenue (Exit B) during this closure.
Passengers needing step-free access from the street will need to use Exit B, underneath Benaroya Hall. The accessible pathway connects with the sidewalk on 2nd Ave at Union St.
The University Street Station entrance at 2nd Avenue (Exit B) may experience intermittent closures to allow for new messaging sign installation from June 25 to July 3.

On weekdays and Saturday, the last train to Northgate Station with service through downtown Seattle departs SeaTac/Airport Station at about 11:58 p.m. All remaining trains will terminate at Beacon Hill Station.
On Sunday’s, the last train to Northgate Station with service through downtown Seattle departs SeaTac/Airport Station at about 11:13 p.m. All remaining trains will terminate at Beacon Hill Station.
Passengers are recommended to exit at Mount Baker Station and use the following King County Metro Routes to travel towards Northgate Station:
• Passengers requiring service to downtown Seattle, please take King County Metro Route 7.
• Passengers requiring service to Capitol Hill Station, please take King County Metro Route 7 to 3rd Avenue and Pike Street, then transfer to King County Metro Route 49 at Pike Street and 4th Avenue.
• Passengers requiring service to University of Washington and U District stations, please use King County Metro Route 48.
• Passengers requiring service to Roosevelt and Northgate stations, please use King County Metro Route 48 and transfer to King County Metro Route 67.

Only four bicycles and/or scooters are allowed per train car. Riders may only enter Sounder trains through doors with a bicycle symbol. Always follow any directions from the conductor.
Each Sounder train car has two tie-down spaces for riders to secure their bicycles or scooters. If the tie-down spaces are occupied, two additional riders may stand with their bikes or scooters. When standing, please stand by the doors near the tie-down area. Restrain your bike or scooter with one hand and hold on to a secure pole with the other. Do not lean, or secure, your bicycle or scooter to other secured bicycles or scooters. Remember, you may need to move your bicycle or scooter, so other riders can move about the train.
Elevator outage at Kent Station. The elevator serving the street (Track 2) and pedestrian bridge to Track 1 is out of service.
In effect: July 2, 9:32 p.m.

1. Return to the Kent Station parking garage.
2. Take the elevator down to the street.
3. Passengers can access track 1 from 1st Ave N.
To Track 2:
1. Follow the pedestrian walkway toward E Smith St.
2. Cross E Smith St at the crosswalk.
3. Follow the pedestrian walkway to track 2.
Please use caution when crossing the tracks.

The work will be done in phases. During Phase 1, which may last several months, approximately 40 stalls will remain open in the station’s southwest triangle lot. This includes ADA stalls, motorcycle stalls and pick-up and drop-off stalls will be in this area. (There are also pick-up and drop-off spaces on Traffic Avenue.) During Phase 1, Narrow Street will be closed to through traffic at Maple Ave, and Academy Street will be closed to through traffic at Cherry Street.
We recommend passengers make alternate plans for getting to a Sounder station as detailed in earlier alerts, including driving to Puyallup Station, Bonney Lake Park-and-Ride Lot, walking or bicycling, or applying for a carpool permit. One new option for east Sumner residents to get to the station is the City's Commuter Connector residential loop shuttle that travels between East Sumner and the station.
